Story
Born from a love of Craft Beer.
Originally conceived and brought to fruition by the former owners of Buster Rhinos in 2013, the Durham Craft Beer Festival became a signature summer street festival in downtown Oshawa, growing in size and popularity until 2018.

After 6 successful years of growth, the founders needed a rest and decided to skip the 2019 event.
​
COVID changed the world and the Durham Craft Beer Festival lay dormant until late 2021, when it was sold to the current owners. With experience as a parton and volunteer over 4 years, we believed we had some expertise to carry on the tradition.
Reborn from a love of Craft Beer!

The first rendition of the reborn Durham Craft Beer Festival took place in October of 2022 at the historic Biltmore Theatre, kitty corner from the original Buster Rhino's restaurant and street festival. The transition to an indoor Festival came with both its own successes and challenges, but it was quickly realized a larger space was required.
​
After much deliberation, planning, and effort, the 2023 Durham Craft Beer Festival debuted at the much larger Children's Arena in June. The new venue offered many advantages, not the least being protection from the natural elements, particularly scorching sun or downpouring rains.
​
With the assistance of the Special Events team and the amazing staff in Parks and Recreation, we have successfully created a new home for the Durham Craft Beer Festival into the future.
To support the City of Oshawa' and its residents, we have expanded to two events for 2025 and intend to continue with the second Saturday of May and the first Saturday of October, annually.

We value the feedback of our vendors and patrons as we continue to rebuild the Durham Craft Beer Festival into its former glory as a signature Oshawa community event.
